6-Year-Old Dies One Week After Crash that Killed Two People in Wolfforth

Lubbock County, TX - A 6-year-old boy who was seriously injured in a head-on crash on FM 1585 in Wolfforth last week has died, according to a police report.

The boy was identified as Tyler Mclnturff.

The deadly crash happened at about 11:44 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the area of FM 1585 and CR 1100.

Authorities said an SUV and a pickup truck collided head-on. The SUV was traveling eastbound on FM 1585 when, for some reason, it drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the pickup truck.

McInturff’s mother, identified as 49-year-old Gina Ganaway, and Ganaway’s boyfriend, identified as 49-year-old Joseph Ellis, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ellis was operating the SUV at the time of the crash, with Ganaway and McInturff as his passengers.

McInturff was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Family members said McInturff was removed from life support on Thursday night, June 18.

Lubbock County, TX. – Authorities have identified a driver and a passenger who died in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning in Lubbock County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at the intersection of FM 1585 and CR 1100 at around 11:34 a.m.

An SUV was traveling eastbound on FM 1585 when it drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the SUV, 49-year-old Joseph Ellis, and his passenger, 49-year-old Gina Ganaway, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 6-year-old boy in the SUV was taken to UMC with serious injuries for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck, 46-year-old Michael Kelly, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Lubbock Police Department is investigating the crash.
