Timothy Holst Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash at SH 86 and SH 214 in Bovina
Bovina, TX – A three-vehicle crash claimed one life and injured two other people Wednesday afternoon at intersection in Bovina, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on September 23, 2026, at the intersection of State Highway 86 and State Highway 214
According to DPS, a Ford Expedition traveling east on SH 86 entered the intersection after failing to yield at a stop sign and collided with a southbound tractor-trailer on SH 214. The impact forced the southbound semi into the northbound lanes, where it struck another tractor-trailer traveling in the opposite direction. During the collision, the southbound trailer detached and came to rest on top of the northbound truck.
The northbound tractor-trailer was driven by 59-year-old Timothy James Holst of Rowley, Iowa, Timothy Holst was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford Expedition driver, 30-year-old Shayanne Marie Clover of Garden City, Kansas, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Parmer County Community Hospital. DPS said she was expected to be airlifted to UMC in Lubbock once weather conditions permitted. Jose Omar Cano, 51, of Olton, the driver of the southbound tractor-trailer, sustained minor injuries.
DPS said the roads were wet at the time of the collision. Investigators believe the SUV entered the intersection without yielding, and no additional contributing factors have been released.
The crash closed the intersection as emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.
The Texas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal Bovina crash.
