Child Injured in Dallas Crash at Elam Road and N. Masters Drive
Dallas, TX. - A 5-year-old child was injured in a crash involving a suspect who was fleeing the police on Tuesday afternoon in Dallas.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Elam Road and N. Masters Drive at around 4:45 p.m., according to the Dallas Police Department.
Police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 10300 block of Elam Road. The suspect, 54-year-old Ronnie Alcaraz, fled the area at a high rate of speed after hearing the police sirens and collided with three vehicles at the intersection.
A child was ejected from one of the crashed vehicles and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Alcaraz was arrested and was charged with evading causing serious bodily harm, aggravated assault - family violence, and interference with an emergency call.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
