Deputy Injured in Harris County Accident at Highway 249 and Old Bammel N Houston Rd

Harris County, TX. – A Harris County sheriff’s deputy was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday night in Houston.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 249 and Old Bammel North Houston Road.

The deputies were on scene investigating a fatal pedestrian accident when the deputy was struck by a woman driving a Nissan Altima trying to make a right turn.

The deputy was on the crosswalk.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman driving the was taken into custody on charge of possession of controlled substance.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
