Felton Hopkins Dies in Car Crash at Loop 390 and Scottsville Road in Marshall
Marshall, TX – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a passenger vehicle and a truck at an intersection in Marshall on Friday morning, according to the Marshall Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:52 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the intersection of Loop 390 and Scottsville Road.
Authorities said the crash involved a passenger vehicle and a truck. Details regarding how the collision occurred have not been released as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as 98-year-old Felton Hopkins of Marshall, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Marshall Fire Department paramedics transported him to a local medical center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. Authorities said no charges have been filed.
Emergency responders from the Marshall Police Department and Marshall Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical aid before transporting Hopkins to the hospital.
The crash marked the second fatal traffic collision in Marshall during the same week. The incident prompted a response from local authorities as they worked to investigate the scene and gather evidence.
