Burleson, TX — A 25-year-old bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Burleson early Wednesday morning, according to Burleson police.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified the bicyclist as 25-year-old Ian Ross Nevling.

The fatal crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on August at the intersection of Northwest John Jones Drive and Walter Drive. Burleson police officers and firefighters responded after receiving a report of a vehicle striking a bicyclist.

The circumstances leading up to the collision were not immediately released. First responders found the bicyclist injured at the scene and provided emergency assistance before he was transported to a local trauma center.

Nevling later died at the trauma center from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the collision, called 911 and rendered aid to the injured bicyclist. No arrest was reported in the information provided.

Burleson police officers and firefighters responded to the intersection and assisted with the emergency response.   

The crash prompted an emergency response at the intersection as first responders worked to assist the injured cyclist and investigate the circumstances of the collision.

The fatal Burleson crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading to the collision.
