Martha Padilla Arrested, Charged after Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at 6300 Antoine Drive in Houston

Man, 38, Killed in Crash on Antoine Drive in Houston

Houston, TX – A 38-year-old man was killed in a fatal crash on Thursday morning in Houston, authorities said.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on June 18 in the 6300 block of Antoine Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were patrolling the area when they were flagged down and directed to a man lying in the roadway.

Investigators said the victim had been involved in an argument with a woman prior to the incident. Witnesses reported that the victim attempted to remove the battery from a vehicle when the woman got inside and drove away, striking him.

The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene

The man's identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

During the investigation, witnesses described the vehicle involved as a black Honda SUV. Officers later located the damaged vehicle at a nearby apartment complex and identified the driver as Martha Alicia Oliva Padilla, 41.

Padilla was subsequently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. She has been charged with murder and failure to stop and render aid causing death in connection with the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
