Mauricio Montes De Oca Killed in Dallam County Crash on US 385
Dallam County, TX. - 24-year-old Mauricio Montes De Oca has been identified as the man who died in a car crash that left two other people injured near Dalhart in Dallam County earlier this month.
The fatal crash occurred on US 385 near Dalhart at about 1:41 p.m. on August 5, according to the Dallam County Sheriff's Office.
Mauricio was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and was exiting a private drive onto US 385 south when he reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a northbound Mack cement truck driven by 61-year-old Rudolph Martinez.
The Chevrolet Silverado was hit on the driver's side.
Paramedics pronounced Mauricio Montes dead at the scene.
A passenger in the pickup truck, 32-year-old Chance Massey, and Martinez suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital.
More details on the accident were not released
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
