Myrna Mellafe Injured in Plano Crash at SH 121 and Independence Parkway

Plano, TX. - Myrna Mellafe was injured in a crash involving a suspected DWI driver on Sunday in Plano.

According to the Plano Police Department, the accident occurred near State Highway 121 and Independence Parkway.

21-year-old Xander Jaymes Smith was driving a car when he rear-ended Mellafe’s car.

Mellafe’s car rolled over and she was ejected through the sunroof and landed 40 feet away from the scene.

The woman was found unresponsive and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Smith was arrested for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

More information on the accident was not available.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
