Beech Grove, TX. – A 35-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way crash on Friday in Beech Grove.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on US Highway 190, between County Road 156 and the Dam B bridge, near Martin Dies State Park.
The man was driving a Ram pickup truck the westbound in the eastbound lane when he collided head-on with a tanker truck.
The truck tractor caught fire on impact.
The man was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital and then transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he later died.
The 58-year-old man driving the truck tractor’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
