1 Killed, 2 Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Hwy. 90 in Castroville

Rear-end Crash on US-90

Castroville, TX – One person was killed and two others were injured after a rear-end collision involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 90 in Castroville on Sunday morning, according to the Castroville Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90 East at Tondre Parkway.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a black Chevrolet Camaro, driven by a woman, rear-ended a GMC Yukon occupied by a family of four.

One passenger in the Yukon suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity.

A second passenger in the Yukon sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Camaro was also injured and taken to a hospital.

Investigators believe impairment may have been a contributing factor in the collision, although toxicology results are still pending.

The Castroville Police Department is investigating the collision.
