One Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash on I-610 East Loop Near Port of Houston
Houston, TX – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday on the Interstate 610 East Loop near the Port of Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal collision was reported at approximately 12:53 a.m. on June 28 along the southbound Interstate 610 East Loop.
Authorities said two vehicles were involved in the crash. One person sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Officials have not disclosed whether anyone else was injured.
The crash prompted the closure of all southbound main lanes and both shoulders of the Interstate 610 East Loop for several hours as investigators documented the scene and crews cleared the wreckage.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and police have not released additional details about what led to the crash.
