Sally Macher Killed in Head-On Crash on Toll 49 in Tyler
Tyler, TX - A 70-year-old woman was killed in a car crash that left two others seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Tyler Thursday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Toll 49 just south of State Highway 31.
A Jeep SUV driven by a 31-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Toll 49 on the wrong side of the roadway when it collided head-on with a Toyota SUV driven by 70-year-old Sally Macher.
Macher was pronounced dead at the scene.
Macher’s passenger and the 31-year-old driver of the Jeep were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities have not established why the Jeep was traveling on the wrong side of the road.
No arrests were reported in the information provided.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
