El Paso, TX – The 74-year-old man who was injured earlier this month in a three-vehicle collision in East El Paso has died, according to the authorities.
The collision happened around 8:40 a.m. on March 14 on Interstate 10 West near Hawkins Boulevard.
Authorities said Sergio Miguel Gomez of El Paso was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu when he exited a parking lot, failed to stop, and crossed all the westbound lanes of Gateway. He jumped the center median onto the westbound lanes of I-10 and collided with two other vehicles.
Gomez was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday, March 26.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 56-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver and a passenger in one of the other vehicles were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The third driver was uninjured in the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
