Terrence Cubit Killed in Victoria Car Accident at Sam Houston Drive and Lilac Lane
Victoria, TX. – 26-year-old Terrence Cubit has been identifies as the driver who died in a suspected DWI crash on Tuesday evening in Victoria.
The fatal crash occurred in the 3800 block of Sam Houston Drive and Lilac Lane at around 7 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
22-year-old Xavier Cantu was driving a truck when he collided with an SUV operated by Cubit with the impact causing the SUV to strike a utility pole.
The truck then veered into oncoming traffic and hit another truck operated by 72-year-old Gary Bennett before it came to a stop in a private driveway.
Terrence Cubit was killed in the accident.
44-year-old Laquanda Callis and a 12-year-old girl who were passengers of the SUV sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Cantu was arrested on intoxication-related charges and booked into Victoria County Jail.
The Victoria Police Department is investigating the accident.
