Tracey Fears Killed, Stephanie Fears and Braden Fears Injured in 3-Vehicle Collision at FM 1639 and FM 3053 in Rusk County
Rusk County, TX – One person was killed, and two others were injured Saturday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision in Rusk County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened at about 3:11 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1639 and FM 3053.
DPS said Tanner Griffin Templeton, 22, of Hallsville, was driving when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit a black pickup that was traveling northbound on FM 3053.
The force of the impact pushed the pickup truck into the southbound lane, where it crashed head-on into another pickup truck.
The driver of the northbound pickup truck, Tracey Fears, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle, Stephanie Fears and Braden Fears, were airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Templeton was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital. His passengers were also treated. He was booked into the Rusk County Jail on a $275,000 bond. He was facing intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault charges.
The Texas DPS is investigating the accident.
