Trooper Killed in Crash on U.S. 87 near Childress

Childress, TX. - A Texas Highway Patrol trooper died in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Childress.

The fatal accident occurred on US-287 at around 4:00 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The trooper was conducting a traffic stop on US-287 when a semi-trailer pulled out in front of him.

The patrol vehicle collided with a semi-trailer.

The officer was pronounced dead at the scene by the medics.

More details about the accident were not provided.
