Woman Killed in Brazos County Bicycle Crash on FM 159 near FM 2154

Brazos County, TX. – A woman was killed in a bicycle accident on a Saturday morning in Brazos County.

According to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred in the 23000 block of FM 159 near FM 2154 and Jericho Road at around 10 a.m.

A vehicle passed two bicyclists traveling along FM 159 before it stopped. The vehicle then reversed for unknown reasons and struck one of the cyclists.

The female cyclist was ejected from her bicycle.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she died.

The driver was arrested and taken to Brazos County Detention Center.  He was charged with manslaughter.

More information on the crash was not provided.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
