Woman Killed in Gaines County Crash on US 385

Gaines County, TX. – A woman was killed in a two-car accident on Thursday evening in Gaines County.

According to the Texas Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on US 385 near mile marker 260.

A 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling northbound in the left lane when it drifted to the right lane and struck a 2025 Toyota Tacoma that was traveling northbound.

The collision caused the Ram to leave the roadway and roll over.

The driver of the Ram was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 13-year-old female passenger in the Ram was also ejected and was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.

Three other juvenile passengers in the Ram, a 12-year-old female from Lubbock, an 11-year-old female and a 7-year-old male, were not injured.

The driver of the Tacoma was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
