William Oldfield, Robert Harthcock, Jaimee Bowen Killed in Panola County Car Collision on US 79

Panola County, Texas (July 24, 2019) – A fatal head-on collision left three people dead on Tuesday morning in Panola County, according to the DPS.

The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, on US 79.

DPS said William Oldfield, 75, of Joinerville, was driving a Dodge Ram towing a trailer northbound on US 79 when he tried to pass a tractor-trailer and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Durango driven by Jaimee Bowen, 34, of Bary.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Durango, Robert Harthcock, 34, of Gary, were killed in the collision.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
