Sugar Land, TX – One person was killed and another was injured Monday night in a two-vehicle accident in Sugar Land, according to officials.
The fatal accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on August 25 in the northbound lanes of I-69 near Methodist Hospital.
Officials said an SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the passenger’s side of an 18-wheeler.
The passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.
Another person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accident closed all the northbound lanes of I-69 from Sweetwater Boulevard to State Highway 6 for several hours.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
