The deadly accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. on August 13 at the intersection of North Garland Avenue and Kingsley Road.

Garland, TX – One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Garland, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. on August 13 at the intersection of North Garland Avenue and Kingsley Road.
Police said 18-year-old Alan Ernaldo Marmol Melendez was driving a black Cadillac northbound at a high rate of speed when he struck a Nissan SUV that was traveling eastbound through the intersection.
The Nissan caught fire after the impact.
The Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Melendez and his passenger, another 18-year-old, sustained minor injuries.
Melendez was arrested and taken to the Garland jail. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The police are investigating the accident.
