Corpus Christi, TX. – One person was killed in a car accident that left three others injured on Saturday evening in Corpus Christi.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on State Highway 188 near Joey Drive at around 5:54 p.m.

A 2016 Nissan Versa, driven by 62-year-old Edith Trotman of Sinton, veered out of its westbound lane into eastbound traffic and collided head-on with a 2014 Honda CR-V driven by 54-year-old Sheryl Sczech of Spring Branch.

The Versa then continued in the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2016 Nissan Frontier driven by 65-year-old Joel Icenhour of Fulton.

Icenhour, Sczech and her passenger, 23-year-old Lea Dujardin of New Braunfels, were injured and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Trotman was pronounced dead at the scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
