San Angelo, TX – Two drivers were injured Thursday morning after a high-speed chase resulted in a three-vehicle collision in San Angelo, according to the Texas DPS.
The collision occurred on September 18 at the intersection of U.S. 87 and 7th Street.
Police said troopers spotted a Hyundai Elantra, which was traveling at a high rate of speed on US 87. They tried to stop the Hyundai but the driver accelerated to about 123 mph and the troopers lost sight of the vehicle around 19th Street.
Minutes later, the Hyundai collided with a Honda Civic at the intersection, spun out of control, and sideswiped a Chevrolet Silverado.
The Hyundai driver and the Honda driver were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Silverado was uninjured in the accident.
The Hyundai driver will be charged with evading arrest.
The police are investigating the accident.
