Two Injured in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on East University Boulevard and Andrews Highway

Odessa, Texas – Two people, including a 4-year-old, were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the police.

The crash happened around 12:39 p.m., March 20, at the intersection of East University Blvd. and Andrews Highway.

Police said a gray Toyota SUV was traveling eastbound in the 100 block of East University while a black Lincoln SUV was attempting to turn eastbound onto University from a private drive.

The Lincoln failed to yield the right of way and collided with the Toyota.

Both the Toyota driver and the four-year-old were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The Lincoln driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way from a private drive, while the driver of the Toyota was cited for no proof of insurance and no seatbelt (child under 17 years of age in passenger vehicle).

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A.
