The train conductor and a passenger were unhurt

Honey Island, TX. – A woman and her daughter were killed in a collision involving a train on Tuesday afternoon near Honey Island in Kountze
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal collision happened around 1:40 p.m. on Woods Lane, just off FM Highway 1293
A 2008 Dodge pickup truck was traveling south on Woods Lane when it attempted to cross the tracks and was struck by an eastbound train.
47-year-old Kimberly Creel of Kountze, and her daughter, 27-year-old Kimberly Shawnea Carver, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The train conductor and a passenger were unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
