The accident happened just before 4:00 a.m. on August 28 on the North Beltway 8 near Ella Boulevard.

Houston, TX – Four people, including two Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables, were injured early Thursday morning in a multi-car accident in Houston, according to the authorities.
The accident happened just before 4:00 a.m. on August 28 on the North Beltway 8 near Ella Boulevard.
Authorities said the deputies were responding to a man running in the roadway, and they were able to stop him and place him in the back of a patrol car. Moments later, a pickup truck crashed into the patrol car, causing a chain reaction collision involving five cars. Two deputies who were outside their vehicles were hit during the collision.
The deputies, a male corporal and a female deputy, sustained serious leg, hip, and head injuries.
One of the deputies was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, while the other was taken by ambulance.
The man who had just been arrested was taken to the hospital for treatment. Another person was treated at the scene for their injuries.
The driver of the pickup showed signs of impairment and was uninjured in the accident.
The accident closed all eastbound lanes of the tollway at Ella until just before 9:30 a.m.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
