One person was critically injured and was transported to Memorial Hermann

Hardin County, TX. – Four people were killed in a collision involving a side-by-side and an 18-wheeler in Hardin County on Friday night.
The tragic collision happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday on Farm-to-Market Road 92 near Jim Burns Road, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A side-by-side occupied by five people reportedly pulled out from Jim Burns Road in front of the commercial motor vehicle and was struck.
Officials say three men and a woman were killed in the accident.
The four were identified as 46-year-old Otis Smart, 33-year-old Melissa Smart, 26-year-old Triston Smart, and 63-year-old Terry Smart, all of Kountze.
According to the report, 30-year-old Kali Smart, also of Kountze, was critically injured and was transported to Memorial Hermann.
The driver of the big rig, 34-year-old Arthur Jones of Houston, was transported to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
