Callahan County, TX – The Texas Department of  Public Safety has identified a woman who died after her vehicle collided with a semi-truck last Friday morning on SH 36 in Callahan County as Benita Yadira Solis Rodriguez, 51, of San Antonio. Two other people, including a 7-year-old boy, were injured in the accident.

According to the Texas DPS, Solis-Rodriguez was traveling north on U.S. Highway 283, approaching the intersection of State Highway 36 when she ran a stop sign and collided with a 2016 Western Star semi-truck towing a trailer.

DPS said the driver of the truck, identified as 60-year-old Terrence Anthony Maughan of Dublin attempted to avoid the wreck but was unable. After colliding, both vehicles came to rest off the roadway northwest of the intersection.

Solis-Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Maughan and a 7-year-old male passenger were taken to Hendrick North Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.

No additional information was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
