According to the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS), the deadly crash happened just before 11 a.m. on April 26 in the 9000 block of the I-35 service road by the Brandt Road exit, after the Slaughter Creek Overpass.

Austin, TX – One person is dead following a traffic collision involving several vehicles on I-35 in South Austin on Saturday morning.
According to the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS), the deadly crash happened just before 11 a.m. on April 26 in the 9000 block of the I-35 service road by the Brandt Road exit, after the Slaughter Creek Overpass.
EMS medics responded to the scene and located an unconscious rider with CPR in progress. The male rider was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Reports indicate that the deceased man was participating in the annual Ride for the Fallen. The 24th Annual Ride for the Fallen went from Harley Davidson in South Austin to the Peace Officer’s Monument at the Texas Capitol.
One other person was evaluated at the scene for potential injuries.
According to TxDOT, several motorcycles and at least one other vehicle were involved in the incident
All northbound lanes of I-35 were closed for several hours. The lanes reopened at around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
The accident remains under investigation.
