New Braunfels, TX – A man was killed on Tuesday in a rollover accident in New Braunfels, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on September 2 in the 2900 block of Interstate 35 North near Buc-ee’s and the Town Center at Creekside shopping district.
Police said Damion McClendon, 34, of Schertz, was driving a silver Ford Fusion at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic when he sideswiped a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. He then overcorrected, causing the Fusion to roll over in the northbound lanes.
McClendon, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident closed the interstate for more than three hours
The driver of the Silverado was uninjured in the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
