Lufkin, TX – A woman and a 16-year-old were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Lufkin, according to the police.
The collision happened around 1:00 p.m. on September 29 on Frank Street.
Police said a 16-year-old stole a Chevrolet truck near the Lufkin Mall.
Officers identified the Chevrolet at the mall and pursued it into downtown Lufkin. The truck collided with a westbound Ford Explorer driven by a 40-year-old Lufkin woman.
The woman was airlifted to a Tyler hospital in unknown condition. The First Methodist Church of Diboll and the Texas Youth Rodeo Association identified her as Morgan Montello Wright.
The 16-year-old was taken to a Lufkin hospital, where they were treated and released.
The accident closed the intersection of Third and Frank streets for several hours.
The police are investigating the accident.
