Baytown, TX – The man who was fatally hit by a police vehicle early Sunday morning in Baytown has been identified as 27-year-old Gary Lane Graber, according to the family.
The deadly accident was reported around 1:30 a.m. on December 14 on State Highway 146 North near Port Road.
Graber’s family said he was driving a Chevrolet Suburban when he experienced a major oil leak and stopped on the highway.
Graber then crossed the highway on foot and was struck by a marked Baytown PD vehicle, according to the police.
Graber was killed in the accident.
The officer, who was on-duty, was uninjured in the accident.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the Harris County Precinct 8 are investigating the accident.
