Martin County, TX – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Martin County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision occurred around 4:20 a.m. on August 2 on State Highway 349 near mile marker 300.
DPS said Aaron Contreras, 25, of Lamesa, Texas, was driving northbound on the highway while another vehicle with a towed trailer was also traveling northbound in front of him. Contreras failed to control his speed and struck the trailer of the vehicle.
Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The other driver was uninjured in the accident.
The weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
The collision remains under investigation.
