Anderson County, Texas — Two East Texas men who were killed in a head-on traffic collision in Anderson County late Monday night have been identified as Abimael Santillian, 21, and Tanner Perez, 19, both of Palestine, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The deadly accident happened at about 1o:45 p.m. on August 5, SH-19, just north of Montalba between FM 860 and FM 2330.
Abimael Santillian and Tanner Perez Identified as Palestine Men Killed in Anderson County Head-on Collision
Both Santillian and Perez were pronounced dead at the scene after a 2006 Toyota Tundra they were in veered into the northbound lane of State Highway 19 and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Santillian was driving the Tundra southbound on SH-19 when for an unknown reason, he veered from into the northbound and collided head-on with a 2025 truck tractor towing a trailer on
The truck driver was identified as Mohamed Simpara, 29, of Brooklyn, New York. Simpara was not hospitalized.
