The fatal accident happened around 10:00 a.m. on September 3 near the intersection of State Highway 79 and County Road 110.

Williamson County, TX – One person was killed Wednesday morning in a train accident in Williamson County just outside of Hutto city limits, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal accident happened around 10:00 a.m. on September 3 near the intersection of State Highway 79 and County Road 110.

Deputies said a 4Runner was either crossing the railroad tracks or stopped on the railroad tracks when it was struck by an Amtrak Train 22 that was traveling from San Antonio to Chicago.

The driver of the 4Runner was killed in the accident. The victim’s identity has not been released.

None of the 71 passengers and crew onboard the train were injured in the accident.

The Texas DPS is investigating the accident.
