Laredo, TX – A driver was injured Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Laredo, according to the police.
The accident was reported around 7:15 a.m. on October 29 in the area of Mercury Mine Road and FM 1472.
Police said a red car made a U-turn, failed to stop at a stop sign, and hit a black Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was treated at the scene and then taken to Doctors Hospital.
The driver of the red car, 47-year-old Jose Saul Gomez-Montoya, fled the scene after the accident. He was found hiding behind a barrel and was arrested. He was charged with accident involving injury and was cited for driving without a license, failing to maintain financial responsibility, and failing to yield at a stop sign. He was booked on October 29 and released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
The police are investigating the accident.
