Galveston, TX – One person was killed and four others were injured in a wrong-way traffic collision early Wednesday in Galveston.
The deadly two-vehicle accident occurred on Seawall Boulevard at 42nd Street at about 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2025).
A preliminary investigation revealed that a car was traveling westbound in an eastbound lane of Seawall without any lights when it struck a vehicle carrying a family of four.
The wrong-way driver was killed in the collision.
All four family members in the second vehicle were transported to the UTMB Galveston emergency room, according to Galveston PD.
Two of the patients were in critical condition.
Seawall Boulevard was shut down in the area early Wednesday as officers investigated the incident.
The accident remains under investigation.
