The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries

Chambers County, TX. – At least one person died and another was injured in a car accident on Friday evening near Hankamer in Chambers County.
According to Chambers County Sheriff’s County, the accident happened on Interstate 10 near mile marker 818 at around 6 p.m.
A 1993 Chevrolet Suburban was towing a trailer and traveling westbound when it was rear-ended by a truck tractor semi-trailer
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The passenger was airlifted to a hospital in Houston where they died.
The driver of the semi-truck was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
