One Killed in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash on West Airport Boulevard at South Sam Houston Parkway

Houston, Texas – One person was killed and several others were injured Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal crash happened around 9:25 a.m., May 31, in the 9100 block of West Airport Boulevard at the intersection of South Sam Houston Parkway West.
Police said a silver Hyundai Accent and a silver Honda Accord were traveling westbound on West Airport Boulevard and had the red light at the intersection. The female driver of the Hyundai failed to control her speed and rear-ended the Honda.
The impact caused the Honda to cross the intersection and hit a green Toyota Camry that was traveling eastbound on West Airport and was turning left onto the South Sam Houston Parkway West service road. The Camry then struck a white Mack van that was also traveling eastbound and making a left turn.
The Hyundai driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Honda driver, a male, and three passengers, a female and two juveniles, were taken to a local hospital in stable conditions. The Camry driver, a male, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The male driver of the van was uninjured in the crash.
The police are investigating the crash.
