Temple, TX – A pedestrian was killed Monday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident in Temple, according to the police.
The deadly accident was reported around 3:38 p.m. on October 6 on southbound Interstate 35 near exit 298.
Police said a person was trying to cross the interstate when they were struck by an 18-wheeler.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.
The 18-wheeler driver fled the scene and eventually stopped near Salado, where he complied and was later arrested.
No other injuries were reported.
The Temple Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500 or the Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477, where callers can report anonymously.
