Lubbock, TX – A 2-year-old child was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on New Year’s Day in Lubbock, according to the police.
The accident occurred around 2:52 p.m. on January 1 in the 3000 block of West Loop 289.
Police said two people, including the 2-year-old, were struck by a vehicle on the freeway.
The child was taken to Covenant Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
The condition of the other victim was not released.
The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the accident.
