Dallas, TX – According to the police, 52-year-old Lateisha Wilson has been charged in connection with the two-vehicle accident that left six people, including three children, injured Wednesday evening in southern Dallas.
The accident happened around 8:15 p.m. on July 30 in the 600 block of E. Laureland Road near the intersection with Shadycrest Trail.
Police said Wilson was driving her blue Ford F-250 on the wrong side of the roadway when she collided head-on with a Mazda CX occupied by a family of six.
The family, three adults and three children, ages 4, 8, and 11, sustained severe lacerations, and one of the kids was in and out of consciousness following the collision. The father, who was driving the Mazda, sustained a broken back.
Wilson told investigators that she was driving on the wrong side of the road because she believed another driver was chasing her to cause her harm.
That other driver told investigators that Wilson had struck his vehicle and driven away from the scene of the minor accident, and he was following her to try to flag her down or at least get her license plate number.
Wilson was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She bonded out of Dallas County Jail on Saturday, August 2.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
