Martin County, TX – One person was killed early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Martin County, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision happened at about 5:00 a.m. on December 13 on Interstate 20 near mile marker 158.
Authorities said a 2006 Chrysler 300 and a 2020 Freightliner towing a trailer were traveling westbound in the outside lane of the interstate.
The Chrysler driver, Agustin Ruiz, 45, of Big Spring, failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Freightliner’s trailer.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Freightliner driver, Andre Brewer, 58, of Fordyce, Arkansas, was uninjured in the accident. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
No additional information was released.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
