Austin, TX – A man on a scooter died after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning in downtown Austin, according to the police.

The accident happened around 1:29 a.m. on November 15 at the intersection of West 5th Street and Rio Grande Street.

Police said Alexander William Gonzalo, 22, was riding a scooter when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection.

Gonzalo was taken to the hospital, where he died on Sunday, November 16.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigators.
