Grayson County, TX – One person is dead following a three-vehicle traffic collision on State Highway 160 in Grayson County on Friday morning.
The deadly accident happened on Sh 160 near Desertlake Road, about seven miles south of Whitewright on November 1, according to Texas DPS.
DPS said Whitewright Fire Department personnel, DPS troopers, and Grayson County deputies responded to the scene and located three vehicles involved in the collision.
Alexandria Pierce Dies in Multi-vehicle Collision in Whitewright
According to troopers, a preliminary investigation showed that a Jeep Patriot, operated by Alexandria Pierce, 29, of Sherman, struck the rear of a stopped truck towing a trailer traveling southbound on 160 and waiting to turn onto Desert Lake Road.
The impact pushed the Jeep into the northbound lane where it collided head-on with another vehicle. Pierce was ejected from her vehicle and was killed.
The highway was shut down for several hours as responding troopers worked to clear the incident. The roadway has since been reopened
The incident remains under investigation.
