Upton County, TX – A person was killed, and another was seriously injured on New Year’s Eve in a head-on collision in Upton County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision occurred around 10:10 a.m. on December 31 on State Highway 349.
DPS said a 2014 Nissan was traveling southbound on the highway when it crossed into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a northbound 2025 Ford F-250.
The Nissan driver, 21-year-old Andrea Leeann Wright of Clarksville, Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford driver, Calton Gage Davis, 30, of San Angelo, was airlifted to the Odessa Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The collision remains under investigation.
