Police say a red-light violation by the pickup truck was a contributing factor in the collision.

El Paso, TX. – 18-year-old Angelique Diaz De Leon has been identified as the girl who died in a car accident in El Paso on New Year’s Day.
According to the El Paso Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Gateway North Boulevard and Sean Hagerty Drive.
Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling east on Sean Hagerty when it was T-boned by a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the intersection.
Angelique, a resident of Northeast El Paso, was a passenger in the Camaro and was killed in the accident.
Police say a red-light violation by the pickup truck was a contributing factor in the collision.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
