Austin, TX – The Austin Police Department has identified the people who were killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision  On Saturday, December 14, 2024, at approximately 4:23 p.m. at the intersection of E. Stassney Ln. and Peppertree Pkwy.

Austin PD identified the victims as Ignacio Jaimes-Jaimes, 75, and Anthony Benitez-Castaneda, 28.

APD said the collision involved a sedan and a pick-up truck. The driver of the sedan, identified as Ignacio Jaimes-Jaimes, and the passenger of the pick-up truck, identified as Anthony Benitez-Castaneda, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Austin, TX – Two people were killed and two others were injured after two vehicles collided at an intersection in Austin Saturday evening, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The deadly collision happened at about 4:27 p.m. at the intersection of Peppertree Parkway and E Stassney Lane.

EMS medics and Austin Fire crews responded to reports of a two-vehicle rollover accident and located four patients, with one of them pinned inside one of the vehicles.

The medics performed CPR on two adults.

According to ATCEMS, two adults were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the deceased were not immediately released.

One adult was transported to St. David’s South Austin with serious injuries. It was not immediately clear if the fourth patient was hospitalized.

No additional information regarding the accident was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
