The fatal collision happened around 1:15 a.m. on October 17 in the 2100 block of the I-10 Katy Freeway near the Taylor Street exit.

Houston, TX – A woman, Ariel Perry Stewart, 21, was arrested and charged in connection with the two-vehicle collision that left two people dead early Friday morning in Houston, according to the police.
The fatal collision happened around 1:15 a.m. on October 17 in the 2100 block of the I-10 Katy Freeway near the Taylor Street exit.
Police said Stewart was driving a Tesla on the freeway when she struck a Nissan Sentra.
The force of the impact caused the Sentra to spin out, struck a barrier and catch fire.
A woman and a man in the Sentra were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Tesla was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Stewart showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody. She was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and was booked into the Harris County Jail.
The police are investigating the accident.

The fatal collision happened around 1:14 a.m. on October 17 on the Katy Freeway near the Taylor Street exit.
Police said a Tesla was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a Nissan.
The Nissan caught fire after the collision, trapping 22-year-old Bianca Romero and her boyfriend, Christian Rangel, inside.
The Tesla then crashed into barriers on both sides of the freeway before it came to a stop.
Romero and Rangel were killed in the accident.
A passenger in the Tesla was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Tesla driver remained at the scene and was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
The collision closed all eastbound lanes of the freeway, and they were reopened around 6:36 a.m.
The police are investigating the accident.
